Pomp & circumstance
When graduation season approaches, you can help your child step into the magic of the traditions and rituals.
Craft some pretend mortarboards. Tassels would be great. Perhaps one of dad’s shirts could serve as a robe. Play or sing Pomp & Circumstance while you practice the processional march. Then have some fun taking giant steps – or singing the song quickly. Award them with a diploma, encouraging eye contact and a handshake. Then carefully move the tassel.
Ask them to share how the ceremony felt. What if they used silly music instead? Do they have any ideas on how to make graduations even more special?
