12-FOOT-TALL LITTLE AMAL WALKS NYC, A PLACE OF RADICAL PUPPETRY
On Sept. 14, Little Amal, a 12-foot-tall puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee girl, landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport to kick off what is billed to be one of the largest public art projects in city history: “Little Amal Walks NYC.” The large-scale production, which runs through Oct. 2, is a collaboration between New York-based St. Ann’s Warehouse and The Walk Productions, in association with Cape Town’s Handspring Puppet Company.
