During a drop-in home visit to a family in the Dukha Community, two young girls sang a beautiful song that Ganbat, the community Shaman, had taught them about reindeer. It was so beautiful that we wanted to hear it again- but this young girl was not about to give an encore. Eventually, she did sing it again in another home just yards away. In Mongolia, singing is a big part of the culture. From song on horseback during a migration to a lullaby, it’s a culture rich in melody and hospitality.
